Job Description: Analyzes malfunction in and repairs, rebuilds and maintains diesel engines and related based in workshop manual specifications, work orders and verbal instructions.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Operates and inspects engines to diagnose malfunctions and takes corrective action as required.

2. Dismantles and reassembles and repairs diesel engines using hosts and hand tools.

3. Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometer and guages.

4. Replaces and rebuilds defective engine subassemblies

5. Tests repaired and overhauled equipment and takes corrective action as required.

6. Reports status of work completion.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Nine years of education plus completion of recognized heavy maintenance training program specialized training in diesel maintenance required.

Experience: Three years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic. Additional years of comparable experience may be substituted for up to 3 years education of training program completion.

Languages: Ability to read, write and speak in English.

Others: Valid vehicle operator license. Welding ability preferred. During periods of emergency or speical conditions, this position maybe overtime or stand by duty.
